Standard composition of a The Pickleballer Shop portable kit
Our reference portable kit includes everything needed to start immediately, with no additional purchase to plan. Detailed composition of a 2-vs-2 session kit:
- 1 official foldable net at USA Pickleball regulatory dimensions: 6.71 m wide, 86.36 cm height in the center and 91.44 cm at the ends.
- 2 lightweight posts in aluminum or steel, equipped with stabilizing feet requiring no ground anchoring.
- Removable lines in sports adhesive tape (compatible with parquet, concrete, asphalt) or snap-together PVC bands (recommended for repeated use).
- 4 beginner paddles in T700 carbon, lightweight (240 g), balanced, perfectly suited for beginner to DUPR 4.0 target.
- 4 outdoor balls 40-hole fluorescent yellow, USA Pickleball compliant, durable on hard surface.
- 1 reinforced transport bag accommodating the entire set for easy transport.
- Illustrated installation manual (French, English, Spanish) and printed official rules.
For more demanding uses, we offer Pro kits (€300 incl. VAT) with intermediate Foundation T700 carbon paddles, USAPA tournament balls, premium thermo-welded line marking and rain cover for the net.
Playing surface, dimensions and configurations
A regulatory pickleball court measures 13.41 m × 6.10 m (pure play area), i.e. about 82 m². Adding lateral clearances (3 m) and behind the baseline (3 m on each side), it is recommended to have at least 15 × 8 m of clear area, i.e. 120 m². This represents exactly half of a tennis court, a quarter of a basketball court, or a double parking space. Our kit also installs in mini-court configuration (10 × 6 m) for reduced spaces or children.
Indoor or outdoor: what concretely changes
The kit works in both environments, with a few nuances to know. Indoor (gym, multipurpose hall, garage), favor 26-hole yellow indoor balls (slower, quieter) and low-tack sports adhesive tape to avoid marking parquet. Outdoor (parking, garden, public square), stay on 40-hole outdoor balls (more wind-resistant) and prefer snap-together PVC bands to adhesive tape (which poorly withstands prolonged humidity). The net and posts are identical in both cases.
When is the portable kit the right solution?
Three typical profiles get maximum benefit from the portable kit.
The individual who wants to test before investing in permanent
You have a garden, terrace, asphalt driveway, or double parking space? The portable kit lets you practice pickleball at home for €120 incl. VAT, with no commitment. If after 6 to 12 months you want to switch to permanent, we offer a 10% discount on definitive surfacing (snap-together tiles or acrylic resin) in exchange for the used kit, which will be re-rented.
The municipality or local authority in political validation phase
For many communes, installing a pickleball court goes through a validation phase: the elected sports official wants to "see if demand is there" before committing a €12,000 to €60,000 budget. A portable kit installed on a municipal parking lot, square, or school gym for 3 to 6 months provides incontrovertible evidence of usage. Of the 50 communes adopting this approach in 2024, 42 (84%) validated a permanent project within the year.
The tennis club wanting risk-free diversification
Are your tennis courts under-utilized during the week? Co-marking 4 pickleball courts on 1 tennis court with a portable kit costs less than €1,500 and lets you test traction over 6 months.
Price, delivery and warranty
The standard kit is invoiced at €120 incl. VAT shipping included in mainland France. Pro versions (Foundation T700 paddles, tournament balls, premium line marking) are €200 incl. VAT, and event kits (4 paddles + reinforced rain net) at €300 incl. VAT. Delivery takes 3 to 5 business days via Chronopost or DPD, with online tracking and breakage insurance included. Material warranty is 2 years parts and labor on the net, posts and transport bag.
The French pickleball market in 2026: a sport experiencing explosive growth
Pickleball is officially the fastest-growing sport in France for the third consecutive year. The French Pickleball Federation (FFP) now counts more than 40,000 registered players in 2026, up from just 8,000 in 2023. The affiliated club network has tripled over the same period and today includes over 200 active structures across mainland and overseas France.
This dynamic is driven by three structural factors. First, the sport's accessibility: a beginner can play a first match in proper conditions after just 30 minutes of introduction, whereas tennis and padel require ten to twenty hours before reaching a playable level. Second, the intergenerational dimension: doubles matches bring grandparents, parents, and teenagers onto the same surface, a unique format among racquet sports. Finally, the impetus from major federations in the United States and Spain, where pickleball has established itself as a new urban sports leisure, is creating a media trickle-down effect in France.
For public and private stakeholders, this growth translates into mounting demand pressure: France is currently short more than 1,500 certified pickleball courts to absorb demand from converting tennis clubs, municipalities solicited by residents, and hotels and campsites seeking differentiation. Building a pickleball court today means positioning yourself on a structural wave projected by the FFP to reach 200,000 players in France by 2030.
Our proven 5-step method
Across more than 200 projects delivered in mainland and overseas France in 2024-2025, our team has structured a repeatable process that guarantees installation quality, deadline compliance, and budget control.
Step 1 - Free site audit (Day 0 to 7)
We visit your site (or exchange remotely with dimensioned plans and photos) to analyze six dimensions: available area, existing substrate flatness, drainage, North-South orientation, vehicle access for installation, neighborhood constraints. You then receive a detailed technical note and our range recommendations.
Step 2 - Itemized quote within 48 hours (Day 7 to 9)
We produce a line-by-line quote including chosen surface, concrete slab if needed, accessories (pro federation nets, line paint, play kit), optional lighting, and full mapping of cumulative subsidies applicable to your profile. The quote is valid 90 days and non-binding.
Step 3 - Validation and scheduling (Day 9 to 30)
Once the quote is validated, we set a pose schedule in consultation with your team. For hotels and campsites, we prefer off-peak installation (October to March). For tennis clubs, we propose November to February windows that don't impact the main sports season. For municipalities, we synchronize with the budget calendar and municipal council deliberations.
Step 4 - Professional installation (Day 30 to 37)
Our technical team installs: 1 day for a portable kit, 1 day for a PVC roll, 1 to 2 days for snap-together tiles, 5 to 15 days for acrylic resin with drying times. We provide systematic photographic quality control and a compliant receipt minutes.
Step 5 - Launch and support (Day 37 to 60)
Beyond installation, we offer a free 4-hour beginner instructor training to one member of your team (clubs, hotels, municipalities, retirement homes), plus a member communication kit (print-ready visuals, mailing templates, social media content). Our after-sales service remains available 5 days a week by phone hotline and email.
Warranty, after-sales service, and long-term durability
Investing in a pickleball court is evaluated over 5 to 15 years. Our contractual commitment is designed to give you this long-term visibility.
Material warranties included
We systematically include a 2 to 5-year material warranty per chosen range: 2 years for portable kits, 5 years for PVC rolls and snap-together tiles, 5 to 10 years for acrylic resin. This warranty covers surface defects (color, flatness, non-abnormal-use cracks), installation defects (joints, fixings, drainage), and installation accessories (nets, posts, marking).
Technical hotline 5 days a week
Our after-sales team answers all your technical questions 5 days a week by phone (+33 6 32 22 08 55) and email (support@thepickleballers-shop.com). For structures under annual maintenance contract, on-site intervention is guaranteed within 72 business hours in mainland France.
Annual maintenance contract (optional)
We offer an annual maintenance contract from €500 ex. VAT/year including: annual inspection visit, deep cleaning twice a year, accessory renewal kit (balls, marking), unlimited technical hotline. This contract extends the effective court lifespan by 2 to 3 years on average.
