Pickleball World Cup 2026: results in Da Nang

The Heineken Pickleball World Cup 2026 closed on 6 September in Da Nang. The first Asian World Cup mixed an individual tournament with a national-team competition: Open, Senior, Master, Junior, Kids.
At Tien Son Sports Palace, the United States won the Open 4-0 against Vietnam. They also close Kids, Juniors and Masters. Brazil took Senior gold, the only category without an American final. Hong Kong took Open bronze. Ly Hoang Nam won the men's singles Pro title. Vietnam, Open and Juniors runners-up, also add Kids bronze.
The event brought together about 4,000 to 5,000 athletes from around 80 countries and territories. Main venues: Tien Son Sports Palace and Tuyen Son Sports Village. Draws: 64 Open teams, 40 Senior, 20 Master, 16 Juniors, 16 Kids.
The honours list
The team titles are now complete. The United States close four of the five categories. Brazil break the run in Seniors. Hong Kong reach the Open podium.

After five days of individual competition, Vietnam already dominated the standings: 106 golds and 244 medals. South Korea followed with 10 golds, the United States with 9. The figure mixes ages, DUPR levels and Pro draws.
At the close, no new official table had replaced that five-day tally. Vietnam still sat well clear, with men's singles Pro gold added on top. India made an early mark in the age-group tables, including Bhushan Akut's gold in men's 60+ singles.

The Open final: a 4-0 American win
The final, brought forward by an hour, was played in a packed arena. The format runs through six disciplines: women's doubles, men's doubles, two mixed doubles, women's singles, men's singles. At 3-3, four players return for a deciding set.
This time the tie never got that far. The United States took the first four matches. The singles were not required.

Quang Duong strung six points together in the third set to move ahead. American depth then closed the tie.
Open silver remains a historic marker for Vietnamese pickleball. The hosts had gone through pools and knockouts without losing a tie, until this last door proved too high.
The road to the final
Vietnam's path
In the pools, Vietnam posted three 6-0 wins against Chile, the Cayman Islands and Colombia. In the round of 32, South Africa fell 4-0.
In the last 16, the Netherlands pushed the hosts to a deciding set. A 4-3 Vietnamese win, last set 20-10 with Phuc Huynh, Ly Hoang Nam, Ken Tam and Trang Huynh.
In the quarter-finals, Australia led 3-2 after Nicola Schoeman's women's singles. Phuc Huynh levelled. The decider swung 20-16.
In the semi-final on 5 September, Japan was swept 4-0: Ken Tam / Sophia Huynh Tran 20-15, then Ly Hoang Nam / Trinh Linh Giang, Quang Duong / Sophia Huynh Tran and Ly Hoang Nam / Si Boi Ngoc.
The United States' path
The United States beat Thailand 4-0, New Zealand 4-1 (despite a 22-23 men's doubles loss), then India 4-1 in the quarter-finals.
India arrived with 17 wins from 18 pool matches, plus a 4-0 over China and a 4-1 over the Philippines. It took only one point, in the first mixed. In the semi-final, Hong Kong was swept 4-0.
Around the last four
Japan recovered from 1-3 down against England in the quarters (4-3, deciding set 20-16). Australia swept South Korea 4-0 in the last 16. England had survived Canada 4-3 in the last 16.
France +19 reached the quarter-finals after a 4-3 win over Germany in the round of 32 and a sweep of Bulgaria in the last 16. The deciding set against Germany was played by Jocelyn Devilliers, Emilien Burnel, Valentine Vernaz and Clara Contis Ramirez.
The quarter-final against Hong Kong was played match by match. Tang Nok Yiu and Fan Pui Long opened in women's doubles. Jocelyn Devilliers and Emilien Burnel took men's doubles 20-18. Devilliers and Clara Contis Ramirez won the first mixed. Wong Hong Kit and Tang Nok Yiu levelled 20-11 against Burnel and Mathilde Sarcelet. Hong Kong then closed the tie, then lost 0-4 in the semi-final against the United States. Hong Kong took Open bronze against Japan. For an FFT squad born this season, a top-8 finish in a 64-team draw remains Europe's headline.
Kids, Juniors, Masters, Seniors
Kids: American gold, Vietnamese bronze
The United States swept India 3-0 in the final on 5 September. Leah Jones and Natalia Simson took girls' doubles 21-11. Ryder Brown and Dylan Galarza took boys' doubles 21-11. Brown and CL Sacca closed mixed 21-16.
India had arrived after a 3-2 quarter-final against Australia and a 3-0 semi-final against Japan. Silver improves on bronze at the previous edition. Vietnam took Kids bronze, another podium outside the Open.
Juniors: the United States again
Vietnam had come back from India 3-2 in the semi-final: 2-2 after four matches, then a 21-12 deciding set. India then lost the bronze match to Brazil.
In the final on 6 September, the United States beat Vietnam 3-1. The Americans therefore close both Kids and Juniors.
Masters: American gold
The United States took Masters gold. Australia silver. South Korea bronze. Vietnam had eliminated India 3-2 in the quarter-finals, a 21-16 dreambreaker after 2-2, before stopping short of the podium.
Seniors: Brazil breaks the American run
In the pool, Brazil lost to Spain and qualified in second place. In the quarter-finals, it beat the United States, champions of the two previous World Cups. This was the only category where the Americans did not play the final.
In the semi-final, Australia fell. In the final on 6 September, Brazil took revenge on Spain and claimed the title, first to three wins in a five-match format. Australia then took bronze. Eliza Rocha was named the competition's outstanding athlete.
India, after beating China 3-2, had been swept 0-3 by New Zealand in the round of 16. France +50, captained by Mylene Hernja, had entered a pool with Argentina, Ecuador and Antigua and Barbuda. Senior DUPR seeding around 4th in the world, average close to 5.09. The match-by-match detail of its path has not been published.
The Pro finals and France
Before the flags, Da Nang produced a very Vietnamese men's Pro tournament. Ly Hoang Nam contested all three Open Pro finals. Tally: one gold, two silvers, plus Open silver the same evening.
The contrast remains clear. The men's draw was locked down by the local pool. The women's draw stayed international, with a Schoeman double (women's doubles and mixed).
These individual finals did not replace the national-team World Cup. They explain the climate on site: a local crowd, Vietnamese squad depth, and a level high enough for Jocelyn Devilliers and Emilien Burnel to meet the headline names already (a 15-13, 15-12 Pro doubles loss to Hoang Nam / Gia Huy).
France arrived with sixteen athletes, two captains and a clear seeding: 9th Open, 4th Senior. Caroline Dhenin's +19 side turned that paper into a result: the quarter-finals of a 64-team draw, then the stop against Hong Kong.
For clubs, this World Cup has a court reading. Ties are played on readable courts, a distinct kitchen, a regulation net, and a high match volume. A tennis club opening a pickleball section does not need a Da Nang arena. It needs the same base: official lines, dedicated slots, and a doubles culture.

The United States remain the reference rival in the Open and among the young. Brazil opened a gap in Seniors. Asia carries weight. France found its place through to the quarter-finals.
